Why we recommend it
El Rodadero is Santa Marta’s most popular city beach, about 15 minutes from downtown. It has a calm bay and a seafront promenade lined with restaurants.
The plan: arrive late in the afternoon, order the catch of the day with patacones and coconut rice, and watch the sky turn orange over the bay.
